Vintage Is Appreciated by the Younger Set!

Our son and his fiancee, who live in another city, had gotten married recently. My hubby and I had stopped by their home two days before the wedding, to give them their gifts. I had made up a little 'vintage care package' for my future 'daughter', and wondered at her reaction. Oohing and aahing over crystal candlesticks, dishes, and tablecloth, she then gasped over the little sheer 1950's apron with it's floral and bows. She immediately put the apron on and began to twirl around the room, to the amusement of some of her bridesmaids / friends, who were helping with last minute decorations! A girl after my own heart! :O)
Here is another sheer little apron from the 1940s that you may luv as much as I do:

Pink And Floral Decor...Is It Too Overpowering?

Vintage Pink Roses Pitcher And Bowl

Many years ago...in a far away land....
That would sound like a good opening for my life history! Or...many 'moons' ago...when I was a young tomboy, playing 'pirates', or 'cowboys and Indians' with the boys...and I always wanted to be the Indian....
In my early years, and even into young adulthood, I detested pink! Maybe that was partially from sharing a pink bedroom with my older sister, and my mother wouldn't change the color! Then with marriage, and sharing a home with my hubby, pink didn't seem like a great color for his bedroom, or livingroom, or all that flowering
'girly' stuff!
But times have changed...and with all of life's stressors, and complications...a soft tone of pink is truly a 'calming' color, for your mood. Adding a few touches of floral will add to the relaxing effect of your decor, and not make the other people in your life feel uncomfortable in a 'girly' room, as my son puts it so eloquently!
You can add other colors to your decor...it doesn't all have to be pink, for that country cottage look. And vintage can be 'used' in your everyday life!

Your home is your 'castle', and your 'refuge from the outside world', so it needs to be soothing! Many vintage / antique home decor items are even more economical, than purchasing brand new ones, and they have a 'history' for an added appeal!

A Wonderful Find For A Vintage Linen Collector!

Many vintage apron collectors have their preferences for style, age, and design of an apron. I am a vintage linen luver, so it is quite difficult for me to say exactly what I prefer!
One apron, which has definitely 'caught my eye', is this very feminine floral apron!
This lovely vintage apron was handmade, and hand sewn, by a 'vintage' quilter, or needlework enthusiast! It was made with TCL, and is so well made...really finished well! It would be appreciated by one and all!
